Dünya hala Alexandar Wang’ in Balenciaga için tasarladığı ilk koleksiyonu konuşurken benim dikkatimi çeken başka bir tasarımcının sonbahar/kış 2013 koleksiyonundan kısaca bahsetmek istiyorum. Yıllarca yanında çalıştığı minimalizmin kralı Raf Simons’tan (şimdi Christian Dior moda evinin kreatif direktörü), Issey Miyake’den ve Giorgio Armani’den etkilenen ve ilham alan hırvat asilli genç tasarımcı Damir Doma çok maskülen, siyahlar ve toprak renklerin ön plana çıktığı sade ama güçlü bir koleksiyonla bizi bu kez de hayal kırıklığına uğratmadı. Bu koleksiyon onun önceki tasarımlarından daha sofistike ve olgunlaşmış olsa da,  asla ticari veya sıkıcı olduğunu söylenemez. Erkeksi kumaşlar, Chelsea botlar, oversized eldivenler, neutral bir makyaj, arkaya doğru taranıp yapışmış saç modeli ve keskin maskülen çizgiler, Damir Doma bunları hepsi bir DNA gibi taşıyıp bize bir kez daha bu androjen trendin moda dünyasından kolay kolay vazgeçilmiceğini hatırlattı.

While everybody else is still talking about Alexander Wang’s debut for Balenciaga I’d like to mention the F/W 2013 collection of another young designer by whom I’ve been fascinated for years and whom I really admire. Inspired by Raf Simons, for whom he has been working the years after the graduation from the fashion school in Munich and Berlin and who is now a creative director of  Christian Dior, by the japanese fashion designer Issey Miyake and tremendous Giorgio Armani, Damir Doma showed a collection of masculine looks in earth colours. Compared with his previous collections this one seemed to be more elegant and sofisticated, but you are so wrong if you expect this, now a bit grown up, Damir Doma to become boring or commercial as it usually happens in the fashion world. Just the opposite, it seems he is not giving up  easily the DNA of masculine fabrics, genderless touches, Chelsea boots, oversized gloves, neutral make-up and slicked hairstyle that he bears and reminds us that this non-gender trend is actually going to last.

First of all I want to apologize for not having posted anything in quite some time. I actually haven’t done much during the last month, it was more likely to be a process of thinking,overthinking,deciding etc. Now I am back and in case you missed the androgynous photosession that appeared in the Elle Serbia’s January 2013 issue and which the world is still talking about, La Moda Androgina is here to share it with you. Bugün de maskülen tarzını tamamlayan aksesuarlarla devam ediyoruz. Sıra bilek aksesuarlarına geldi. Ben ne kadar sevmesem de, kullanmasam da onlardan bahsetmek zorunda olduğumu hissettim, ama onların hakkında ne kadar bilgi verebiliceğimi de bilmiyorum… Bir önceki postu okumadıysan, bir göz atmanı rica ederim çünkü orda boyun aksesuarlarının hakkında yazdığım şeyleri bence aslında bilek aksesuarları içinde geçerli. Aksesuarları süslenmek için değil de, outfiti tamamlamak için kullanmalıyız. Bilek aksesuarlarının kullanılması için 4 kural geçerli: 1. Daha minimalistik ve daha maskülen bir look için hiç birşey takmamayı tercih ederiz, 2. casual bir look’u deri, metal-deri , zincir yada onların üçünün karışımı bileziklerle tamamlıyacağız, 3. Gece yada fazla casual olamayan bir outfitini sert bir dokunuşu son sezonların en gösterişli parçalarından biri, bilek kelepçeyle verebiliyoruz (sert bi deriden, yada metaldan yapılmış) ve 4. Giydiğimiz kıyafete maskülen bir feeling katmak istiyorsak onu en kolayca bir saatle (tipik erkek aksesuar olduğu için) yapabiliyoruz.
Bunlardan hangisi seçersen seç önemli olan doğru bir aksesuarı doğru bir kıyafetle doğru zamanda kombinlemek. Sadece sezonun trendi olduğu için bir aksesuarı illaki kullanmak zorunda değilsin, bunu unutma. Bir vücuda bazı kıyafetler nasıl yakışmıyorsa, aynı şekilde belli bir aksesuar bir bileğe ve bir vücuda yakışmayabilir o yüzden aksesuar seçerken onunla giyeceğin kıyafetin dışında, boyuna, bileğinin kalınlığına, elinin boyutuna, tırnaklarının formuna ve rengine de dikkat etmelisin.
Hiç birşey takmamayı tercih edersen, ama aynı zamanda bir şekilde bileklerini ve ellerini süslemek istiyorsan, eldivenler senin için her zaman doğru ve çok androjen bir seçimdir. Onlar hakkında daha fazlası yarın…

I’m gonna continue  writing about the accessories today and the next few days. Even though I am not a big fan of bracelets and similar hand accessories and I honestly don’t have much clue about them, I feel kinda obligated to mention them anyway. I hope you read the previous post ‘cos the way we use the neck and hand accessories is pretty similar. The point is not to use the accessories as a decoration, but to compliment the outfit with them. So you either go “less is more”, use some leather, chain or metal bracelets (or a combination of them three), take advantage of the season’s big boom – the cuffs (thick leather one or a metal one) or simply use a watch, as one of the most typical men accessories. Whatever you choose to use as an accesorry, u’d better be careful so it fits perfectly the rest of the outfit and the occasion you will wear it for. Just because an accessory is so IN it definitely doesn’t mean you are obligated to buy and use it. Don’t forget that as some piece of clothings don’t always suit you (mostly because of the body type), so some accessories may not always suit your hands.In case you are not much in love with these kind of accessories, but you still want to accessorize your hands in some way, the gloves are always a solution.
